Founder & President, IDIA USA

As a seasoned product manager by profession and a passionate advocate for social change, Sneha K. Thakur, founded IDIA USA in 2021 with a mission to engage, educate, elevate and empower South Asian women. Her vision was to create a platform that could allow south asian immigrants and first generation women to Connect, Communicate & Collaborate with each other. Her unwavering commitment to women’s empowerment and equality is deeply rooted into this impactful venture.

Driven by the desire to create a space where South Asian women could thrive, she established IDIA USA as a platform for support, inspiration, and growth. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by the South Asian women community in a diverse city like Austin, she has been diligently working as the President & Board of Director, to provide tailored programs and initiatives that nurture both personal and professional development. She says that whether you are seeking professional growth, personal development, or a community that embraces inclusivity, IDIA USA welcomes you with open arms.

 

Arpana Jha

Secretary

Arpana has a professional background in data analysis and strategic business operations.
She brings a strong problem-solving mindset and a focus on impact to her work.

Throughout her career, she has worked on transforming complex data into actionable insights and supporting initiatives that improve outcomes and efficiency. At IDIA USA, she contributes to community-driven programs, strengthens operations, and supports long-term strategy, all while staying aligned with the organization’s mission of inclusion and growth.

She is passionate about creating safe, supportive spaces where women can thrive, and sees her work here as a meaningful extension of that purpose.

Bharti Aggarwal

Treasurer

Bharti Agarwal is passionate about supporting and uplifting women through a strong sense of community. Inspired by the organization’s purpose, she joined with a genuine belief in creating spaces where women can grow, learn, and feel confident. She enjoys actively participating in initiatives that encourage connection and personal development. While challenges do arise, she believes in navigating them through open communication, understanding, and mutual support. Bharti appreciates IDIA’s programs for the opportunities they provide women to connect, learn, and feel empowered, aligning with her vision of a community where every woman feels seen, supported, and strengthened.

Shikha Sharma

Marketing & Content Lead

Shikha Sharma, the passionate marketing & content lead of IDIA advocates for empowering South Asian women in the USA. Inspired by the organization’s mission, she joined with unwavering dedication to creating a supportive and uplifting community. As the marketing lead, her focus is on amplifying the organization’s mission and values to a wider audience and implementing impactful marketing strategies. Shikha’s commitment shines through even in the face of common challenges, as she prioritizes tasks, delegates effectively, and collaborates with the team. Among the array of impactful programs, she holds a special appreciation for the nukkad Adda, a platform that fosters a sense of belonging and camaraderie among women, providing support and a space to share experiences. With a vision to connect and uplift South Asian women, the organization strives to address mental health challenges and create lasting change by fostering a strong network of support. Shikha’s passion and drive are invaluable assets to the organization’s mission.

Sonal Mishra Pachori

Advisory Board Member

Sonal Mishra Pachori is driven by her passion for building meaningful communities where women feel empowered, connected, and celebrated. Inspired by IDIA’s mission, she brings strong leadership and initiative to fostering volunteer engagement, organizing structured networking opportunities, and creating spaces for genuine connections. She skillfully navigates challenges of aligning diverse schedules and priorities by implementing clear communication and efficient systems, ensuring every member feels valued and motivated. Sonal particularly enjoys leading networking and community-building events that help women build confidence, form lasting relationships, and combat isolation. With a vision to cultivate leaders and create a strong support system, she plays a key role in helping women grow, connect, and thrive as empowered individuals within the community.

Meenakshi Kodati

Director, Events & Programs

Meenakshi Kodati is the Director of Events, Programs, and Experiences at IDIA USA, where she creates meaningful, community-focused initiatives for women. Inspired by the generations of women who came before her, she sees her work at IDIA as a way to give back and pay it forward, hoping that even helping one young girl dream bigger can create lasting impact. She is especially passionate about IDIA’s meetups, where women come together to connect, share experiences, and support each other in a warm, open space. As someone who enjoys bringing people together, she thrives on building real, authentic community. Balancing her career, family, and volunteer work is not always easy, but she leans on her support system and believes that asking for help is a strength. For her, IDIA’s true impact lies in meeting women where they are and offering connection, visibility, and growth opportunities.

Muskan Garg

Marketing Specialist

Muskan Garg is a passionate content and marketing enthusiast, assisting IDIA’s marketing team with website updates, social media content, and graphics. She helps ensure that IDIA’s events and campaigns reflect its mission of inclusivity and empowerment, working to connect and inspire the community through her creative contributions.

Taruna Singh

Director, Partnerships, Sponsorships & Entrepreneurship ​

Taruna is passionate about building a supportive and inclusive community for women from diverse backgrounds. Inspired by the organization’s mission, she joined with a strong intent to contribute to initiatives that focus on women’s well-being, skill development, and meaningful connections. She actively supports community engagement efforts that help women build confidence and explore their potential through events and collaborative programs. While navigating challenges like coordinating across diverse schedules, she remains committed to the cause. She especially values the IDIA Women Club and interest-based communities that offer quick guidance, shared experiences, and a strong sense of belonging, aligning with IDIA’s vision of empowering women to grow, connect, and uplift one another.

Puruda Kothari

Legal Advisor

As a legal advisor for IDIA, she brings extensive expertise in data privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance across industries like ad tech, SaaS, and fintech. She provides guidance on privacy laws, intellectual property, and risk management, helping IDIA navigate legal challenges. Her commitment to community and passion for causes supporting women and children drive her contributions to IDIA’s mission.
