Founder & President, IDIA USA

As a seasoned product manager by profession and a passionate advocate for social change, Sneha K. Thakur, founded IDIA USA in 2021 with a mission to engage, educate, elevate and empower South Asian women. Her vision was to create a platform that could allow south asian immigrants and first generation women to Connect, Communicate & Collaborate with each other. Her unwavering commitment to women’s empowerment and equality is deeply rooted into this impactful venture.

Driven by the desire to create a space where South Asian women could thrive, she established IDIA USA as a platform for support, inspiration, and growth. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by the South Asian women community in a diverse city like Austin, she has been diligently working as the President & Board of Director, to provide tailored programs and initiatives that nurture both personal and professional development. She says that whether you are seeking professional growth, personal development, or a community that embraces inclusivity, IDIA USA welcomes you with open arms.

We are a movement—a WOMEN FOR WOMEN platform—where we celebrate diversity, amplify voices, and foster meaningful connections. Dhruti Mehra

Board Member of IDIA

Dhruti is a committed board member of IDIA, driven by the organization’s mission to empower women without judgment. She is passionate about creating a self-sustainable South Asian women’s community and focuses on fundraising, collaboration, and marketing. Overcoming challenges within the team, Dhruti ensures a positive perspective and a focus on the organization’s bigger goals. Her favorite IDIA programs, such as discussions on health and wellness, He for She initiatives, IDIA summits, picnics, and the Nukad Adda, foster connection, support, and a sense of belonging among women. Through its events and support systems, IDIA makes a meaningful impact on women’s lives, providing a platform for empowerment at every stage. Dhruti recognizes the importance of both men and women in creating a happy and safe environment for all.

Kinjal Shah

Board Member of IDIA

Kinjal is a dedicated board member of IDIA, driven by her passion for empowering women and making a positive impact on their lives. Inspired by the organization’s mission, she joined with a deep desire to uplift and support her fellow community members. With a focus on learning, event success, outreach, and fundraising, Kinjal actively contributes to the organization’s goals. She understands the importance of trust and open communication within the team, overcoming challenges to maintain high morale and productivity. Kinjal’s favorite IDIA programs include education initiatives, mental health support, skill development, and entrepreneurship, all aimed at benefiting women in their personal growth, confidence, and socioeconomic empowerment. With the belief that IDIA can bring transformative change, Kinjal envisions a community where women thrive, supporting each other and giving back to society.

Shikha Sharma

Marketing & Content Lead

Shikha Sharma, the passionate marketing & content lead of IDIA advocates for empowering South Asian women in the USA. Inspired by the organization’s mission, she joined with unwavering dedication to creating a supportive and uplifting community. As the marketing lead, her focus is on amplifying the organization’s mission and values to a wider audience and implementing impactful marketing strategies. Shikha’s commitment shines through even in the face of common challenges, as she prioritizes tasks, delegates effectively, and collaborates with the team. Among the array of impactful programs, she holds a special appreciation for the nukkad Adda, a platform that fosters a sense of belonging and camaraderie among women, providing support and a space to share experiences. With a vision to connect and uplift South Asian women, the organization strives to address mental health challenges and create lasting change by fostering a strong network of support. Shikha’s passion and drive are invaluable assets to the organization’s mission.

Rohini Reddy

Logistic & Outreach lead

Rohini, a dedicated member of IDIA, joined the organization with a passion for empowering women and uplifting communities. Her primary focus lies in supporting women in leadership positions and celebrating their achievements. As a team member, she navigates challenges by prioritizing goals, fostering communication, and promoting collaboration. Rohini’s favorite IDIA programs include women’s meet-ups and picnics, which provide valuable networking opportunities and foster connections among women from diverse backgrounds. She believes that IDIA aims to have a lasting impact on the women’s community by promoting entrepreneurship, offering personal and professional support, and creating a sense of strength and togetherness.

Ritu Sharma

Dynamic Coms & Outreach Lead

Ritu Sharma, the dynamic coms & outreach Lead of IDIA, was inspired to join this organization as an introverted individual seeking to make a meaningful impact on the lives of fellow women. With a strong focus on empowering women, Ritu’s primary interests lie in creating a supportive network and facilitating skill development. She faces the common challenges of recruiting diverse talent and securing corporate sponsorships, while her favorite IDIA programs include sessions with successful women and family gathering events. Ritu believes that IDIA’s ultimate aim is to address the loneliness experienced by newcomers and provide a safe space for women to share challenges, seek guidance, and find support without judgment.

Muskan Garg

Marketing & Content Lead

Muskan Garg is a passionate content and marketing enthusiast, assisting IDIA’s marketing team with website updates, social media content, and graphics. She helps ensure that IDIA’s events and campaigns reflect its mission of inclusivity and empowerment, working to connect and inspire the community through her creative contributions.

Ritu Nagri

Marketing & Content Lead

Ritu Nagri is driven by her passion for women’s rights and providing a safe space for women to express themselves and find support. With a focus on engagement, Ritu values member input to improve our programs and meet their expectations. She particularly enjoys our meet and greet sessions with guest speakers. She believes at IDIA, we strive to create a self-sustainable environment where South Asian women can connect, support each other, and empower themselves. 

Puruda Kothari

Legal Counsel Head

As a legal advisor for IDIA, she brings extensive expertise in data privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance across industries like ad tech, SaaS, and fintech. She provides guidance on privacy laws, intellectual property, and risk management, helping IDIA navigate legal challenges. Her commitment to community and passion for causes supporting women and children drive her contributions to IDIA’s mission.
